BLAKE COLLETON
THE MAN
My name is Blake Colleton. I’m 28 years old, from Australia, and I’ve been bodybuilding for just over three years now. I turned pro last year in London.
THE ATHLETE
I’m a wheelchair bodybuilder. I became a paraplegic just over 11 years ago, from a motocross accident. I used to race motocross professionally, starting at the age of five years old. I became a paraplegic after a massive motocross crash doing what I loved. But since becoming a paraplegic, my direction has changed to bodybuilding.
I first got into the gym for physiotherapy, just to regain my strength after the accident, and then it turned into a real love for the sport of bodybuilding. I wanted to compete so that I had more of a goal-driven passion behind it. Yeah, I competed for the first time in Brisbane, Australia, back in 2023, and then I came over to London in 2024 and got my pro card.
I also qualified for the Mr. Olympia and went straight there in my first year as a pro. I got seventh last year, and this year we’re here at the EMPRO Classic, hopefully looking to qualify for the Mr. Olympia again, go back there, and improve on that seventh place.
THE HEROE
So my motivation would have to be: just get out there and have fun with whatever you’re doing. You always have to have something to push yourself toward every day. Make yourself get out of bed, you know—don’t just dwell on what you have.
Make the most of every situation, find something that you love doing, make it your passion, and push toward a certain goal. I believe goals are a big thing for me. If I set myself a goal, I have to accomplish it. I will not give up until I achieve what I want.
Yeah, just make the most of what you’ve got.
