THE MAN
My name is Emilio Martínez, bodybuilding promoter. I was an elite athlete, and since the age of 17 I’ve been involved in this sport. Currently, I dedicate myself to promoting it through shows and events we organize in Spain and around the world, under the umbrella of the NPC and the IFBB Pro League.
THE PROMOTER
As a promoter, and especially of the wheelchair category, it’s an honor for me to show that through this lifestyle and this discipline, incredible things can be achieved. There are people without any kind of disability who nevertheless feel mentally limited. Seeing how athletes in this category face their new lives is a lesson that makes you sit down and reflect: in this life, anything is possible.
What we see in the championships proves it: going from a limitation that could destroy your existence to finding motivation and a path that drives you to get up every day and do new things.
THE HERO
At some point, we’ve all gone through difficulties, illnesses, or situations that pushed us out of our comfort zone. That helps us understand even more how these athletes manage to find the motivation to keep moving forward day after day.
For me, this category deserves true admiration and applause. It represents genuine motivation toward a healthy lifestyle through bodybuilding, which is much more than just a sport.
I myself found in bodybuilding the strength to return to the stage after a serious illness that no one knew if I would survive. I was fortunate to overcome it and, just like them, I found the motivation to keep practicing my sport and to continue my personal journey.
